About Gibbs Farm

Gibb’s Farm is a historic, luxury lodge and working organic farm located on the outer slopes of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in Karatu, Tanzania. Known for its “farm-to-table” dining, it is an ideal retreat for those on an East African safari, offering proximity to the Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara National Park.

Responsibilities

1. Aesthetic Standards: Keep the farm visually outstanding for guest tours.
2. Collaboration: Work with the culinary (kitchen) team to align production with seasonal menus.
3. Storytelling: Partner with guest-facing teams to design farm-based experiences and tours.
4. Drive new agricultural methods and technologies in fruit, vegetable, and livestock production.
5. Implement strategies to diversify crops and increase sustainability.
6. Mentor the three sub-department managers to foster a culture of excellence.
7. Financials: Oversee and optimize farm budgets and resources for maximum impact.
8. Data-Driven: Analyze production and financial data to prepare actionable reports.
9. Compliance: Ensure all health, safety, and environmental regulations are met.

Job Mission

Qualifications

1. Experience: Proven leadership in managing complex, multi-disciplinary agricultural operations.
2. Education: Formal degree or training in Agriculture, Animal Science, Agronomy, or a related field.
3. Technical Knowledge: Deep expertise in organic farming and animal welfare standards.
4. Communication: Ability to persuade management, guide staff, and engage with international guests.
5. Strategic Thinking: Ability to turn operational data into measurable improvements.
